Hisham Matar is an American-Libyan writer, born in New York City to Libyan parents and grew up in Tripoli and Cairo. He has pwritten two novels In the Country of Men, Anatomy of a Disappearance and The Return. He won the Pulitzer Prize, the PEN/Jean Stein Book Award and the Folio prize and has been short-listed for many others awards including the Man Booker Prize and the Baille Gifford Prize

He now lives in London and will release his new novel with Viking called My Friends on 11th January 2024.[1]
